Archetype Series: The Forgotten Princess
She wept as night fell. All she had ever wanted was to be free from her royal life and her towering expectations. Even for hour, just to be free. She crept away from her castle at dawn, retreating to a simple cottage, her sanctuary. She laughed, mocking the guards as they rode past her, giddy in her triumph, until the shock of her escape sunk into her bones. She was alone. Night after night, the young princess would run through the forest, filling the emptiness with her cries. No one would hear, for there was no one around. Her castle too far away, and her forest to deep. Her head grew weary without her crown, knowing it was to be past to another. A princess could be replaced just as easily as a king, and a life void of responsibilities was not as handsome as she had once anticipated.
